FInal Major Project 2016
The adaptation of video games into film is becoming an increasingly popular trend within the film industry. As a third year costume construction student, I felt that it was relevant to my future career to gain a greater understanding of the projects I may be working on after finishing my degree.
This project aims to adapt the costumes featured in the original concept art of Assassin’s Creed III, set in 1750s North America, into working film costumes. This particular game in the series was chosen as the costume design work is particularly strong and of personal interest. The main objective was to understand the changes that would have to be made to the concept art in order for the costumes to work on screen effectively and also please the film’s original fan base.
